How long is access for?
You’ll have 12 months of access starting from when you enrol, and if you’d like more time, you can extend it for a small additional fee.
What is this qualification?
This Gym Instructor Course ( the Level 2 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Gym Based Exercise) is a CIMSPA-endorsed, Ofqual-regulated qualification that qualifies you to work as a gym-based fitness instructor.
Who is the course suitable for?
This is an entry to sector qualification aimed at individuals looking to work as a gym instructor within a health-club, gym or other fitness setting. No prior learning or knowledge is needed.
What does the course include?
Our gym instructor course covers the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and how to plan and deliver gym-based exercise programs for clients. Students also learn client consultation, communication and motivation skills, and how to conduct inductions and maintain a safe environment.
How is the course delivered?
The course uses a flexible blended learning approach including home study, e-learning, webinars, video tutorials, and tutor support, allowing study at your own pace. Optional face to face workshops are available at venues across the country for your practical assessments.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by a combination of worksheets, quizzes and practical exams that can be completed either in person at one of our many assessment venues or virtually through video submission.
How long does the course take?
Guided Learning Hours (GLH) are 35 with a total qualification time (TQT) of 65 hours, typically completed within a few months depending on individual study pace.
