It has certainly been a challenging and unprecedented time with uncertainty of gyms being at the forefront of all of our thoughts. It is however fantastic now to hear of the scheduled re opening of gyms across the country on 25th July.
For fitness education providers, such as Study Active, the question is now when we will be getting back to “normal” (or new normal) and what will this look like.
Firstly, a plan needs to be agreed with the relevant regulatory bodies such as CIMSPA, UK Active and Active IQ. This will give us a road map to move forwards. It must be remembered that fitness education is a different concept to fitness facility use so training providers must tread carefully to ensure whatever we do is done safely and in accordance with Government guidance.
Once the “green light” is given it will then be down to each individual provider to ensure that practical workshops and assessments are conducted in a safe and effective away. There will obviously be challenges here such as maintaining social distancing (easier said than done when Personal Training a client!) so there must be clarity before commitments are made to re introducing practical workshops and assessments.
As of today 10th July 2010, Study Active are working very closely with CIMSPA, Active IQ and UK Active to allow practical workshops and assessments to recommence as soon as is possible – but we ask all of our students to please bear with us so we get this re launch done properly.
Rest assured this is an absolute priority for us and please look out for updates on social media as to when bookings for workshops and assessments will re-open. We genuinely hope such an announcement will be in the very near future. Watch this space!
